Perfume’s new album titled “⊿” (Triangle) is scheleduled for July 8, includes 3 previously released songs as singles: “love the world“, “dream fighter” and “one room disco“. 2 songs that were included with singles: “edge (triangle mix)” and “negai (album version)“, both of them rearrenged for this new album.

The rest of the tracks on the album (7) -including “night flight” that was recently promoted along a new TV and web commercial with Pino- are brand new tracks:

· Take Off. Overlapped synth arpeggio and breakbeats, introduction to the album.
· NIGHT FLIGHT. 80’s techno-pop style song, high tempo (145BPM) and 8bit sounds.
· Kiss and Music. Funk-groove songs about erotic/love songs but the mood of this song has an opposite mood using a moog’s arpeggio, and the vocals are inorganic, mixing it up in a kitsch tune.
· Zero Gravity. Jazzy electro piano, bossa mood song.
· I still love U. 80’s new music love song. An impressive melody line.
· The best thing. House love song that begins with a synth arpeggio solo. Nakata Yasutaka’s stylemark.
· Speed of Sound. Percussive, latin-house beat basis, jazzy club track. Vocals are only words.

Perfume surprised us with the new Pino commercial for it’s new 2009 campaign. A new song titled NIGHT FLIGHT is the theme song for the this Pino Airlines campaign. Is Perfume & Pino repeating their formula? New song, New CM, New Album? In 2008 they released “Secret Secret” with a Promotion Video where Pino was like the fourth member of the video, then a CM and finally their second album but first non-compilation album “GAME”.

Will NIGHT FLIGHT precede Perfume’s third album?

ONE ROOM DISCO ranked #1 on it’s first week in the Oricon charts selling over 88,075 copies. And for those who live in Japan, Perfume had surprises for them as they did with previous releases. Buying a limited copy of ONE ROOM DISCO and filling the included form, there was many rare goods you could get: “Live backstage invitation”, “Fan’s Home Visit” And lots of goods: 100 “Perfume Original Goods” gifts, 3 “Unique Deluxe One Room Disco CD Sleeve Case”, 1 “Perfume rare T-shirt (Staff T-shirt or Member T-shirt)” and more original goods.

Perfume’s third Live DVD was released on April 23: BUDOUKaaaaaaaaaaN!!!!! with footage from their 2-days Live at Nippon Budoukan on November 6 and 7, 2008. They became the new MUSIC JAPAN hostesses [],[]. They have their weekly appearance talking with guests and we can enjoy their performances: One Room Disco, MACARONI (sheleduled fo next week’s program -May 3st-). They promoted ORD in many TV music shows, but this one from Music Station (March 27) was one of the best TV stages to date: One Room Disco @MS 20090327

Perfume also won the Best Choreography Video prize from SPACE SHOWER VMA 09 for Dream Fighter PV.

What’s next? Disco! Disco! Disco!
Those who’re lucky enough to go to Tokyo will enjoy Perfume’s new 2-days live at Yoyogi Stadium on May 9 and 10, latest news says that stage side seats had been added. It was also announced that WOWOW will broadcast the show, so we’ll watch it sooner or later regardless a DVD comes out or not.
