Were back!

Greetings, Perfume City-zens!

First I would like to thank the Perfume City head-honcho, ekuseru, for giving me the opportunity to better serve the Perfume fan community by updating the site blog in his place. Due to his busy schedule, he was not able update the blog as much as he wanted to, but that’s where I’ll help out. Until further notice, I’ll be your navigator in the latest Perfume news, as well as adding some personal editorial/opinions/reviews regarding releases, media, and all that jazz.

Who am I? Well, I go by the alias of Meirin on the Perfume City BBS, or simply Mei elsewhere. I’ve been a Perfume fan since their ~Complete Best~ release came about. I was born & raised in California, obviously currently residing there and attending university. On the side, I own/participate in other blogs with various themes, from anime to idol voice actors to J-pop and so on.

But enough about me! How about some much needed Perfume news.

Since Triangle‘s release, the album ranked #1 on its ORICON weekly chart with 211,000 first week sales. This surpassed their previous album, GAME, which sold 154,000 during the first week. Another Gold Disc album and another #1 for Perfume!

Following their album release is, of course, their 2009 nation-wide tour, entitled the 直角二等辺三角形TOUR (Isosceles Right-Angled Tour), in light of their latest album. The stops feature various halls and small concert venues, as well as large arena-sized venues towards late Sept. – Oct.

Tour goods and details are all provided on their newly renovated tour home page, complete with Flash and the works. And if you can’t attend one of their venues, you can still follow up happenings on their official report blog.

With the end of their loosely scripted comedy variety show, Perfumeのシャンデリアハウス (Perfume no Chandelier House), it was announced that all three of their variety shows, including HAPPY!, Perfumeの気になる子ちゃん (Perfume no Kininaru ko-chan), and Chandelier House will available as a DVD box set titled Perfume in Happyで気になるシャンデリアハウス (Perfume in Happy de Kininaru Chandelier House). *exhales* The set comes out 9/25 and is available at the usual online portals.

And in community news, the Sekai no Perfume Fan Letter Projects are in the final stages, and will hopefully be ready to be sent to Perfume sometime this month. We thank each and every person who contributed to the project in any way or form, and we are quite satisfied with the results! The only thing left to do now is translate all the letters and videos, so if there is anyone who would still like to help with the project by translating, please notify me at vivianttle[at]gmail[dot]com and we would highly appreciate your kind generosity!

Until next time, this is Meirin–signing off!
