This trio’s original choreography was very impressive! Despite their camera not being the greatest, their routine still shined through. Most importantly, their movements were very fluid and Perfume-like, one of the main things we looked for. Congratulations!

For our JPN limited edition album we have

He also covered and performed original choreography to GLITTER! What was most impressive is that he did all the parts by himself, not to mention we could see Perfume doing these moves as well. Good job!

[Oct.25 EDIT] In the interest of more time needed, the GLITTER dance cover due dates have been extended November 24th. Also, prizes will now not be limited to each individual contest. Both contests will be combined and judged at the same time. 1st place will JPN lmtd. album, runner-up will be SPICE lmtd single.

Introducing the International Perfume City Dance Contest! We have two prizes up for grabs, a limited edition of their next single SPICE (including a B2 size poster!) as well as a limited edition of their next album JPN! There are two ways to enter!

Entry Version #1

Since the Glitter Dance Contest was limited to only Japan, we thought it would be interesting to see what ideas the international fans have! The rules are very similar to the official Japan-only dance contest. :

1. Watch the official tutorial dance clip on YouTube. (You may extract the audio via Keep it! or another YT to mp3 source.)
2. For the parts where it does not show you how to dance, create your own choreography!
3. Submit your recorded video on to YouTube with the title “Perfume City Dance Contest: Glitter – [Name]“

Entry Version #2

This one is a free-for-all dance contest! This means you can choose ANY Perfume song to dance to. This includes medleys and remixes!

Here are some ground rules:

1. Submit your recorded video on to YouTube with the title “Perfume City Dance Contest: JPN – [Name] – [Song Title]“
2. Any & all songs being danced to MUST be a Perfume song (sorry, no mash-ups)
3. Video must be under 8 minutes, no exceptions!
4. No limit on performance members! However keep in mind that there is only one JPN album grand prize.
5. Cover must be completely new and never uploaded before! That means it has not been used for any other contest/audition/etc. Upload dates will be checked and suspected submissions will be disqualified.

The deadline for this prize will be November 24th, and then public voting will open! Polls will close November 27th and the winner will be selected!

Anyone is free to enter, regardless of country of origin! You could even do a cover of each version! Be sure to tune in to our Twitter for live updates from our dance contest.

What do you think? Did the results surprise you? As the sole new single Perfume released in 2009, I think OneRoom Disco was a worthy choice for the #1 spot this year; it didn’t top Oricon for nothing after all. The highly stylistic and catchy NIGHT FLIGHT is also a good candidate in the top 3, and personally my favorite track in the Triangle album. The original edge already made the  love the world single seem like a double a-side and broke a zenith of records when it released in 2008, as yet the edge (⊿-Mix) just added on as one of Yasutaka’s best and most badass creations for Perfume to date.
